ICP to PCP with Additional Approved Activities Consultation
NSRoP would like to obtain feedback regarding migrating the ICP category of licence to PCP with additional approved activities.
The NSRoP Bylaw Article 19 indicates that starting April 1, 2015, any individual holding an Intermediate Care Paramedic (ICP) license and meeting the renewal requirements will automatically receive a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) licence. This new licence will carry the same privileges, conditions and restrictions as their previous ICP licence.
After April 1, 2025, the ICP licence will no longer be issued.
Under Article 19.3, the scope of those licenced includes all responsibilities of a PCP, along with any additional duties within paramedicine as determined by the Board.
The NSRoP is formalising a process by which the ICP Registrant will transition to the PCP licence category with additional approved activities and would like to receive feedback.
The Board will further consider feedback before the process is finalized and approved by the Board.

The consultation is open until December 13, 2024.
